Morningside Group is pleased as punchwith its SkyLofts MarketSquaredevelopment but ready to move on to new things as it attempts to close out the rest of the downtown Royal Oak project this year.
About 15 percent of the 88 lofts are left at the corner of 11 Mile Road and Curry Street and the developer hopes to close those out soon. To accomplish that, Morningside is holding a 48-hour sale where prices on lofts are significantly lowered, some as much as $100,000, over a special weekend grace period.
“They’re highly motivated to close out this inventory,” says Sharlan Douglas, a spokeswoman for Morningside Group. “They want to move onto other projects in Michigan.”
The lofts are completely built out and ready for occupancy. The units range in size from 1,200 to 2,100 square feet and are priced starting at $219,000. Each residence comes with extras, such as granite countertops, a balcony or terrace and a parking space in a heated garage on the first floor.
The building replaces an old motel that was razed. The building is one the northeastern edge of downtown, two blocks from Main Street. It’s mostly flanked by single-family homes from an adjacent residential neighborhood.
Moringside Group has several other loft projects throughout Metro Detroit, including Liberty Lofts in Ann Arbor. For information, call 248-541-LOFT(5638).
