Prairie Town Center | Current Housing Market Strong for Smart Buyers

OAK LAWN, IL – The brutally cold and snowy winter has many Chicagoans eagerly anticipating spring. Traditionally, spring is also when the home buying market kicks in for the year.

Instead of waiting for spring, however, smart home buyers can stay ahead of the pack by taking advantage of terrific deals now. The current housing market is a particularly strong one for homebuyers, thanks to low interest rates, strong homebuilder incentives and a wide variety of available housing choices.

Buyers with good credit scores are in a strong position to enjoy affordable housing deals. Interest rates on 30-year fixed mortgages are the lowest in months, and buyers can also take advantage of numerous developer incentives.

For example, Morningside Group is offering special incentives at its two projects in Oak Lawn – Prairie Town Center and Arbor Court.

Buyers who purchase one of the last remaining homes at Arbor Court, currently at their lowest prices ever, will receive a 2008 Honda Civic LX Coupe. The buyer is only responsible for title costs, taxes and fees. The cars are being provided by Community Honda of Orland Park.

If buyers prefer, they can take the price of the car and have that amount discounted from the home’s purchase price. Two buyers recently took this option when they purchased new homes at Arbor Court. Six homes now remain available at Arbor Court and interest in the development is at its peak.

At Prairie Town Center, Morningside Group is offering a 4.625 percent introductory rate, or $10,000 in options. Full terms and conditions are available at the Arbor Court and Prairie Town Center information center.

Prairie Town Center and Arbor Court are located just off 95th Street in downtown Oak Lawn. Whether a first-time home buyer is looking to move in immediately, next year or in 2009, these developments offer plenty of options.

“Now is a terrific time to buy, especially for first-time homebuyers,” says Morningside Group President and Managing Principal David Strosberg. “These Oak Lawn developments offer terrific prices, a great location, strong neighborhood amenities, ease of access downtown and a strong, secure investment for the future.”

Since launching sales in late-2006, phase one of Prairie Town Center is more than 80 percent sold, with occupancy set for spring 2008. The second phase of Prairie Town Center is slated for occupancy in spring 2009.

Prairie Town Center offers up to 10 different floor plans. Homes range in size from 844 square feet to 1,461 square feet and are one bedroom and one-and-half-baths, two bedroom and two baths, or three bedrooms and two baths. Each home purchase includes one heated, indoor parking space and an individual storage locker. Exterior parking is also available.

For those requiring immediate move-in, six homes remain at Arbor Court. These are all two-bedroom, two-bath homes (one with a study).

Standard features at Prairie Town Center and Arbor Court include kitchens with 42-inch upper cabinets. Baths have cultured-marble tops in a variety of colors, and buyers can choose from a selection of vanity styles and finishes. Residences have nine-foot ceilings in all living spaces, per plan; and walk-in closets or dressing rooms in master bedrooms, per plan.

Prairie Town Center will also boast two single-story retail buildings featuring 18,000 square feet of retail space just steps away from the condominiums with frontage along 95th Street.

Prairie Town Center is just a short walk away from the Metra train station, Freshline Grocery, Starbucks Coffee, Potbelly Sandwich Works, Citibank, Dunkin Donuts, the Vino Tinto wine bar, Cold Stone Creamery, Al’s Beef, Nancy’s Pizza and Hollywood Video.
